Kavitha Questions Group-I Exam, Calls for Fresh Process

Former MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha has come out strongly against the Telangana Public Service Commission’s Group-I exam. She says the test was unfair and should be cancelled.

Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, Kavitha alleged that the recruitment ignored the rights of local candidates. She pointed to Article 371D, which guarantees preference for Telangana youth, and said the commission had “broken that promise.”

For students, Group-I is the most sought-after exam in the state. Many have waited years for the notification, sitting through delay after delay. The sudden announcement and the way the test was handled has left aspirants angry and anxious.

At a protest near Chikkadpally Library, Kavitha asked why non-locals were allowed to benefit. She also raised doubts about the choice of language papers. “How can our students compete if the rules keep shifting?” she asked.

She has written to the Chief Justice of India, urging judicial action. If no response comes, she says she will move the Supreme Court. Student unions and youth groups have begun holding meetings, warning of more protests if the government does not step in.
