Telangana Jagruthi President Discusses Food Assistance with World Food Program Country Head, India

President, Telangana Jagruthi, Ms. Kalvakuntla Kavitha interacted with Mr. Bishow Parajuli, United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Representative and Country Director to India on a virtual call. They engaged on wide range of areas of concern including state of hunger and malnutrition and the innovative steps taken by the Telangana Jagruthi towards addressing these issues. The World Food Program received the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 2020 for their work in reducing hunger and malnutrition across the world. The World Food Program Country Director stressed on the need to bring the government, the private sector and NGOs such as Telangana Jagruthi to come together to fulfil the vision of a hunger and malnutrition free India.
“We are committed to a multi-pronged approach to end the issue of hunger and malnutrition through innovative policies and progressive measures on the ground”, said Kavitha.
